On Sunday, two of our talented artists, Lynn and Janice, took part in a Michaels Demonstration Event in Easton! They showcased their sewing and knitting skills, engaging with the public while sharing their skills.
Art Space Artist Randy Jones has created a wonderful poem and corresponding video to share with us all. The Poem is titled “I Am”. Randy says about his work:
Following is a poem titled “I Am.” When this poem came to me, I remembered the medieval philosopher René Descartes, who said: “I think, therefore I am.” From that thought came the idea to write an inclusive poem for humanity as a whole—something that could bring us together, whatever life circumstances we may face individually.
I Am I am an independent person Sometimes friendless, yet never alone. My art gives me strength. The human spirit lifts me. I walk through silence and storms, yet carry light in my heart In shadow, I discover colors; in sorrow, I uncover songs. In every face, I see a mirror. In every voice, kinship. I stand with the broken— for they are the brave. I am not bound by walls or chains. I am the breeze on your face, I am the ground beneath your feet I am a dreamer of tomorrow visions. I am woman, I am man. I am black, I am white. I am gay, I am straight. I am trans, I am fluid. I am young, and I am old. I live simply, yet I’m never poor. I am liberty. I am the earth herself with lasting love. I am a winding road, moving forward fearlessly, the stars above remind me I am never alone. I am. Yes I am.
Thank you to all our artists for their bravery and vulnerability in sharing their art and stories for us all to see.
