Welcome to our bi-weekly email newsletter full of updates from Art Space, calls for art, exhibition news, and other fun things!
Art Space regular schedule:
Art Space is now open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 10AM-3PM and Wednesday’s are returning to 10AM-3PM! Appointments are also welcome.
The next online meeting will be on 12/2 from 1-1:45PM. Always on a Tuesday! The link will be sent out the day before, with a reminder the day of. If you’ve been missed from the meetings email list, please let me know! I’ll be happy to add you.
Upcoming Events
On November 15th, there will be an Art Sale and Fundraiser with both 1221 Art Space and Pathways called SpaceWay Saturday from 11AM-3PM.
Important notes:
Drop off all artwork before November 11th so it can be documented in the Art Space Square system before the sale date. This will also help with space setup timeliness. You are welcome to help set up your artwork if you schedule an appointment with Leslie or Rebecca.
Arrival time is between 9:30-10:30am, on November 15th.
Inventory: Whether you are a beginning artist to professional artist, it is important for you to track your inventory. We can help by sharing inventory sheets, finance totals to date, etc..
Questions are welcome. The sooner the better answers we can provide for the you to be successful.

Call for writing! We’re looking to collect some quotes from our artists that describe what Art Space means to them, what they like to do here, or how the community has helped them for our new website. But anything you would like to share is welcome! If you would like to volunteer, please email your writing to rgonzalez@concordcounseling.org. The writing can also be anonymous. Thank you!!

The 2026 Accessible Expressions Ohio call for art is now open!
Deadline: November 14th, 2025
Accessible Expressions Ohio is a statewide adjudicated exhibition featuring art from artists with disabilities from across the state. Artists can enter in the youth, emerging, or professional categories, and enter under a special theme category. Cash prizes are awarded in each category, including a Best in Show.

Columbus Metropolitan Library Opportunity!
The Martin Luther King Branch of the Columbus Metropolitan Library invites statements of interest by November 15, 2025 from artists interested in creating art in the branch during our Happy Birthday Martin program January 15, 2026, 3:30-6:30.
The artist would work in the presence of library visitors on a work of art depicting Martin Luther King, of which, when completed, the Library would retain ownership.
The Library will purchase required art supplies and provide a modest honorarium. A connection with Columbus’s King-Lincoln Bronzeville community is a plus.

Good Land Ohio Call for Art
Good Land is thrilled to announce a CALL FOR ART for our new flagship shop opening in Franklinton this December!
This exhibition will run December through February, marking the very first art show inside our brand-new space.
DETAILS
Exhibition Dates: December 2025 – February 2026
Location: Good Land, 510 Walnut Street, Columbus, OH 43215
Eligibility: Open to artists living and working in the greater Columbus area
Mediums Accepted: All visual mediums welcome
Sales & Commission: Good Land will handle all art sales and retain an 18% commission. Artists will receive payouts at the end of each month for any sold work.

Perform on Stage at the Peggy R. McConnell Arts Center
Deadline: December 1, 2025
The McConnell Art Center’s mission emphasizes our focus on showcasing the art of performing artists who reside in Central Ohio. The MAC invites submissions from individual performers and groups. We are interested in presenting performances through a multidisciplinary, integrated approach that highlights different artistic disciplines.

Community Fund Ohio Grant
The Community Fund Ohio grant program assists individuals with disabilities who reside in Ohio as well as nonprofit organizations that serve people with disabilities. Grant awards are intended to fund needs related directly to a person’s disability and/or to help them access their community.

People that can benefit from body doubling are those with ADHD or other neurodivergent conditions who struggle with focus and individuals who procrastinate or have difficulty starting tasks.
