What's Happening in April?
Welcome to our email letter full of updates from Art Space, calls for art, exhibition news, and other fun things!
Art Space regular schedule:
Art Space is open Monday through Friday from 10AM-3PM. We now have Tuesday Tours with Leslie! Please schedule all tours for Tuesdays between 12PM-2PM.
We have brought back our extended Wednesday hours! Our new Wednesday open to close times will be 10AM-6PM.
The next online meeting will be on 4/7/26 from 1-1:45PM. After that, the next meeting will be 4/21/26. Always on a Tuesday! The link will be sent out the day before, with a reminder the day of. If you’ve been missed from the meetings email list, please let me know! I’ll be happy to add you.

The Heart of Concord Art Market will be May 2nd from 1-4PM! Thank you to all that applied to this years event- we couldn’t do this without you. Keep an eye on your email for upcoming information!

Please be aware of food waste at Art Space. If you make food- please eat it, share it, or take it home. Let’s keep our panty available and make sure we stay sustainable.

Call for writing! We’re looking to collect some quotes from our artists that describe what Art Space means to them, what they like to do here, or how the community has helped them for our new website. But anything you would like to share is welcome! If you would like to volunteer, please email your writing to rgonzalez@concordcounseling.org. The writing can also be anonymous. Thank you to everyone who has submitted so far!

Heart of Concord News
Heart of Concord is looking for face painters and live painters! Are you interested or know someone who is? Send us an email at 1221artspace@concordcounseling.org!
Drop off date for artwork is April 23rd-25th for everything. Including table artwork for outdoor artists. You will be able to set up your tables on the day of. You can drop your work off at Art Space or Concord Counseling. Please have your artwork gallery ready if you are an inside artist. This includes framing and wiring or sawtooth hangers. Please reach out before the drop off dates if you need help with these.
We are handing out postcards and flyers by the end of the week! Come by Art Space to pick some up to give your friends, families, and any local establishments. We will also be bringing the materials to Concord, so please grab some to distribute!
Artists, please have your pricing lists in by April 18th. This will give us adequate time to make sure your prices are correctly entered in our system!
Here’s some important information for this year: we’re aiming to keep all prices as whole dollar amounts, such as $2.00, $5.00, or $50.00. Please try to avoid using prices with cents, like $0.50 or $10.75, as this will help streamline the checkout process for your customers.Below is a pricing guide worksheet that you’re welcome to use, which may help in your decision-making. There is also a blank inventory sheet you can fill out. If you prefer hard copies, they will be available at Art Space.

We are looking for volunteers who want to help with the indoor and outdoor art market at this year's Heart of Concord. This is just an interest form. Disability EmpowHer Network - Disabled Women Make History (and Art)
Deadline: 11:59pm ET on April 19th, 2026
Artist submissions are now being accepted for Disabled Women Make History (and Art), an art show hosted by DEN and the Toledo Museum of Art celebrating disabled women*!
The opening reception for this show will be on June 20, 2026, and the show will remain on display through July 31, 2026 at the Toledo Museum of Art in celebration of Disability Pride Month!
Artists selected will be invited to display their work at this event and receive admission to two exclusive workshops to enhance their skills in marketing themselves and their artwork.

Hilltop Arts Collective: In Our Backyard: The Art & Artist of The Hilltop
Opening Reception: Saturday, April 18, 2026 2 PM - 4 PM at the Columbus Metropolitan Library - Main Library

Ohio Arts Council
Artists with Disabilities Access Program (ADAP)
Deadline: May 1st
The Artists with Disabilities Access Program (ADAP) provides funding that gives individual artists with disabilities the resources they need to further their artistic development. Creative expression by artists of all abilities is essential to building dynamic and diverse communities throughout Ohio. ADAP awards help artists with disabilities advance their artistic practices, making Ohio a more accessible and inclusive place to build an artistic career.
Important: This is an extensive grant. If you wish to apply, it is best to start soon. Reach out for more information and where to receive assistance with filling out the grant application.

Reminder that Art Space has our own food pantry and pet pantry, everyone is welcome! Take what you need and leave what you can.
